Unicep, which specializes in liquid and gel contract manufacturing and packaging, has acquired a high speed single use applicator line to support the ongoing need for point-of-use delivery systems.

This is the supplier’s latest addition to its manufacturing facility, and compliments its existing portfolio of unit dose blow-fill-seal dispensers.

Paul Knight, vice president of engineering at Unicep, commented:

“With this addition, we are able to offer our customers world-class consumer product capability producing hundreds of millions in annual SwabDose units.”

Unicep’s SwabDose technology is a point-of-use applicator, such as a swab, which is saturated with a liquid, gel, or cream product for a topical application intended for one-time use. Consumers can apply products in a single, sanitary premeasured step. (One example is shown.)

The broad range of applications and products that can benefit from the supplier’s SwabDose technology include skin and nail care, whitening gels, fluoride treatments, and OTC topical treatments, among others.
